About This Spot

Nestled just a short drive from the waterfront, Fish & Fancy Seafood Take Out offers a quietly inviting embrace of old-school charm amidst the peaceful surroundings of Villas, NJ. The moment you arrive, there’s a comforting sense of familiarity—a laid-back pace where you can pause and savor the craft of seafood done thoughtfully, free from the buzz and clamor of the typical coastal crowd.

The atmosphere here is understated but genuine, with a touch of sophistication that doesn’t feel over the top. It’s the kind of place where the staff greets you like a neighbor and the warmth in their service mirrors the care that goes into each meal. Whether you’re picking up a beloved local staple or trying something new, there’s an easy confidence in how dishes are prepared that invites trust and delight.

Fish & Fancy feels deeply connected to the rhythms of the sea and the seasons. The menu reflects that—offering a variety of seafood experiences from broiled platters to unique, homestyle sides that complement rather than compete. You might find yourself drawn to a perfectly broiled shrimp or settling in with a rich bowl of chowder loaded with fresh clams and herbs. There’s a palpable respect for tradition here, from the comforting baked potatoes and kid-friendly onion rings to the more distinctive specialties that locals return for time and again.

While it may not have the spectacle of a waterfront bar or raw bar hustle, this spot beats to its own steady rhythm—a reminder that great seafood is about heart as much as flavor. Regulars appreciate the thoughtful touches and the feeling that every order is crafted with care, whether enjoyed on the go or brought home for a family meal full of familiar, satisfying moments.

This place is perfect. Old school seafood place with charm and sophistication. Service and staff were amazing. The food was prepared perfectly, tasted great, you could really feel the love that went into it. Go to the lobster if ya have to, just know, this place, blows it away. It's not on the water, doesn't have a big cruise ship bar but it's every bit as much a sea food place. There's no raw bar but they have many other selections behind the counter. You couldn't go wrong giving this place a try. Thank you for taking care of the Bakers on July 22nd. You didn't have to, but ya did. You guys are a class act. So happy with this place I can't wait to come back.

Very good food, I got the broiled sea food plater and it was just enough food to make you full. I love getting this because it’s local to where I am and it’s not that expensive. My family has been coming here for a good amount of time and we never been disappointed

Always delicious food. I come here every time I go to Cape May. Crab cakes mushrooms are A+ and so is the popcorn shrimp. We also got the seafood broil and added a lobster tail. There is usually a long wait, so call ahead!

This place has great seafood. Had crab Imperial and it was really good. Had Manhatten clam chowder soup. And it was awesome. It was loaded with clams and had good herbs best I ever had. Can't wait to go back and try the other soups and seafood.

We ordered new england clam chowder and calamari to go. The chowder was good & flavorful, with a little too much black pepper. The calamari was okay because it was a little soggy from being packed when it was still hot. The service was very good, food ready on time & the staff were pleasant.

Very good! Lowkey seafood joint, exactly what I was looking for. Everything we tried was extremely fresh with great taste! Reasonable prices and large portions! Plenty of leftovers.. Highly recommend!
